The hotel was clean and the staff was polite and efficient. However, the rooms were tiny and the decor was horrendous--dark wood and mirrors everywhere. This has to be one of the ugliest "high-end" hotels I have ever stayed in.

Spent a week at the Westin in Shanghai and loved every moment of it. Staff were wonderful and service impeccable. Our deluxe room on the 11th floor had direct views of the river with the Bund on one side and Pudong on the other. The light show across the river at Pudong at night was spectacular (shades of Lost in Translation - 80 story buildings with amazing video footage) My favourite was a white dove that started at the bottom on the building and flew to the top. Brilliant service - wonderful room - extra large fluffy white towels and bath robes. Couldn't have asked for more. My grateful thanks to all the staff. Will definately go again when I get the chance.
